C quiz preparation · Recall lab
Know the rule.
Recall the code.
Start with one C concept: a type, expression, pointer, or bit operation. Recall its exact syntax, trace what changes, then write a function from memory.
Short answers and blank-page coding. Your first attempt stays separate from hints and self-checks.

Check each requirement
Exact matching can miss a valid alternative. If your answer uses a different valid form, compare it with the model and explain the difference to yourself.
Round review
Recall recorded. Let it settle.
Your recall map
Keep returning to the weak spots.
“Delayed recall” means independent successes at least 24 hours apart. It is evidence of retention in practice, not a measure of exam mastery. Due and delayed counts group alternate prompts for the same skill.

How this recall system works
Focused: keep a topic cue while you learn the rule. Work through facts and syntax first, then add connected traces and functions.
Mixed: choose the relevant concept yourself. Topic labels appear after your attempt. The stated C assumptions remain visible.
Due review: return to skills you have already attempted when their review time arrives. A different prompt may test the same skill; fresh skills are not added to fill the round.
Hints, opened references, and revealed answers are recorded. Automatically checked answers and rubric self-checks are reported separately. A function written from memory is a self-check, never an automatic code grade.
